Hi guys i am having an extractor hood fitted after some builder work, and am wondering if it would be possible to fit a normal plug on the end of the wire instead of a fused unswitched FCU, It states on the document that it needs a 3 am fuse. could anyone advise please :?: :)

Yes, a 3A fuse is usually required - what do the instructions say?

Sometimes they ask for a switch with min 3mm gap between poles to be fitted then you need a switched spur. If this is the case, fit a 3A fuse.

If in any doubt ring the mfr.......

the instructions say this should be wired in to a fused unit, yet with cookers if they are under a certain wattage u can use a normal plug with the right fuse. it doesnt say anything about a 3min gap between poles. This is going on a main ring , not a spur.....

ive now seen on the instruction manual that it must be connected to an omnipolar switch with a contact gap of at least 3mm
