Today I come home from rugby to do a load of washing. The machine came on, I programmed it and press start after which all the lights and everything on it went off. The houses main lights/electricity didn't trip and nothing on the main board fuses suggested that something had tripped.
I pulled the washing machine out and plug it into another socket. The machine came on with lights etc but I didn't attempt to program and start the cycle. I took off a another switch socket and connected it up to where the machine was previously connected. The machine went on again but I didn't attempt to program and start the cycle.
I thought it was a fault socket so went to buy another one. I bought two just in case and put everything back. I switched it on and programmed it again and all the lights went off like before.
No electrical work has been done recently and the machine had done a load of washing earlier this morning.
I'm going to move the washing machine out again and plug it into an existing socket but this time program it and see if it "trips" again. While I have it out should I try anything else or check something else?
Any help/advise greatly appreciated.
