Hi,

I have a on old blue switchmaster VA1 valve which has packed up. Its just making a grinding valve and not turning at all. I am able to turn it manually by placing a coin in the slot and twisting.

The problem I have is that it is in a very confined and awkward spot and the pipes are in an inverted T configuration . This means that if i was to replace the valve it would mean a lot of new pipework in a hard to get to place.

Does anyone know of

1) anywhere i may be able to get a Switchmaster VA1 motorised valve from.

or

2) Is there a replacement synchron motor available for this switch

or

3) Would it be possible to use the valve in a fixed position - i.e. CH & HW and changed it to just HW in the warmer weather?

Many thanks in advance for anyones help

Alan..

Replacements not available, bite the bullett & replace with a decent valve.
'Do it well, do it Honeywell'

A few wiring alterations I think as the SM has 6 wires

(Sw then Honeywell):
SM White Honeywell Grey
SM Yellow Honeywell White
SM Orange Honeywell Orange
SM Red Honeywell Orange
SM Blue Honeywell Blue
SM G/Yel Honeywell G/Yel

Hope this helps,

Mr. W.
