felt or rubber can anyone help

I have a 3m x 4m flat roof extension which was felted about 14 years ago.

There is a black patch spreading across the roof and although there is no sign of leaking I would like to get it done before the winter.

I have had one quote so far for Firestone rubber including new boards for £1600, is this expensive and does anyone know how this performs compared with 3 layer felt? Any help would be appreciated.

Search in the roofing section for EPDM (which is what the Firestone product is) - lots of info there.

IMO, EPDM will be better than traditional felt, but you need more quotes of each type to compare
