Hello
just near the end of extension build, basically built over exsisting garage and small utility area to create bedroom and shower room above.. the plans show that the garage ceiling has to be double plasterboarded and insulated with 150mm celotex.. I get that bit, but it also shows that I have to place 'Rockwool firestop quilt to the head of the wall' this is at the point where the garage meets the utility which is divided by a single brick wall. I've tryed google(ing) fire stop quilt, but can't find out what it is, or how I will be using it.
Anyone got any ideas, or should I really be looking at getting someone in because it's fire regs stuff..
Cheers
David

I think the designer has over-specified it

The wall, and double boarding will provide the necessary fire spread protection.

Otherwise, just use rockwool
