Hi I'm mid way through fitting my new kitchen.

I have a Twyfords Belfast sink which I was hoping to fit on top of a standard 600mm belfast sink base with standard height units either side.

Problem is sink is 24" i.e. 610mm, so will not fit in gap.

How do I get round this ?

Any tips appreciated.

Cheers

1. Sack, and then sue, the kitchen designer.
2a. Replace the sink with one that fits;
or
2b. Make the gap bigger, and don't worry about the small overhang.

I rang the guy that did the kitchen layout and he had no idea that the sink was bigger than 600.

He said he asked one of his kitchen fitters and they said 'yeah happens all the time' . He said they just centre the sink on the unit and then fit between the other units leaving a 3-4mm gap each side which they then run a bead of sealant in between.

Does this sound right or do you think it is a load of bull ?

It sounds spot on to me, but I would still berate the kitchen designer.

I've been lookin on t'internet and it seems they only come in 18 or 24" options.

You would think Twyfords might cotton on to this and make a metric one. How many kitchen units are sold as 2 foot these days !!??

Anyone got any ivory coloured sealant ?
