hello,

I was hoping that someone could give me clues as to how to fit a heater into a wf440. I've already gone through the checks suggested in other posts so I'm familiar with removing the lower back panel.

Any help would be gratefully received

once panel is removed the heater is in front of you , 8 mm nut and 3 wires pull wires off and remove nut then pull heater towards you it will be stiff, replace with new one ;)

Thanks for the clues rocks1, you're a star!

Washer was up and running hot but not bothered and finished perfectly in time - darn thing hasn't stopped since, so the iron might need an overhaul soon!

Again, many thanx :D

and good riddance too - I wouldn't have a hotpoint thrown at me. My wife wanted to stay with the brand so I suggested she pay for the ongoing repairs; she agreed with me that the washer should be taken to the tip.
