I'm fitting a new pump head on to my Potterton 80 combi...
But I'm a bit concerned about the Pump starter Knob I unscrewed it like the the manual says and pulled it out to engage the spindle but to my supprise it came out of the head all the way and I ended up with it in my hand and I noticed it was splined at the end ( The old pump dosn't do that)...I put it back in again but I can't get it to spin the pump vanes..It just rotates freely...will this be ok???

Spek so. What MAKE is the pump - maybe not original.

In think the original was the lower power CP53 but the CP61 will still work.

The latest one we have in stock still has the original mechanism for spinning the rotor.

It makes me wonder exactly what has happened to yours!

I believe there is some kind of a small clutch that fits on the 5mm dia splines that engages when its pulled outwards....and this has come off and fell inside the pump. just guessing.
