This should be very easy, there are 3/4 inch BSP female threads. I have bought 3 hep 2 O adaptors wrapped with PTFS tape and fitted. The top one leaks and I can not seem to stop it.
If I am not being stupid with this type of connection the female thread is parrellel and the male thread tapers, when screwed in it therefor becomes tight and with the addition of some ptfs tape seals. (There is no shoulder in the valve to take a washer or o ring.)
I think what is happening is that the thread on top outlet is too short and the male thread is bottoming out on part of the valve casing before it gets tight on the taper. I am thinking this because when tightening it is fairly easy to tighten then suddenly goes solid. The side inlet ones get progressively tighter and are not leaking.
Have rung Crosswater and they are no help, nor is local plumb centre!
Does this all sound like where its going wrong and do different BSP male threads come in different lengths.
Hope that makes sense, any guidance welcome!!
