hiya all,

could do fitting a new bath mixer as the old one has seen better days and started to drip a bit after use, could go do the lines of replacing the washers but not really had good experience of this solving the problem?!
(item is 13 years old) so about time for a change

is it as simple as -

take bath panel off
turn water off
undo tap connectors with bath spanner
undo fixings to bath mixer with box spanner
place new one (guessing there all the same size etc)
fix tap to bath
connect tails replace washers (gussing there the bigger type (not 1/2 inch)
tighten up
put water back on
bath pannel bath on etc

??!! worth while doing your self of getting someone to do it for you?!

im not bad at diy/have fitted compression fittings etc in the past.

thanks - any help would be appreciated :)

sounds fine m8,i would re-use the tap back nuts if they are brass, plastic ones tend to crack

looks like a good list, only thing I would add is plumbers mate around the base of taps to avoid water getting under. And if you really want the taps to never to move and create a seal> plumbers gold. Good time to fit ballvalves as well , so they can be isolated without shutting the water off to the whole house. Noticed this post was a while back, but someone maybe needing advice now.
