I really need to replace our upvc front door, it's doing nothing to stop the heat getting out, the locks breaking and it's going mouldy! Want to fit a second hand upvc front door.

Is this ok to do? I mean using a second hand door?

Easy job for an amateur? [/quote]

Couldn't be easier assuming it's the right size and as long as none of the side channels are broken. These carry a fixing lugs/plate which has a swivel section with teeth that bite into each side of the channel that fix the door to the slap without twisting the frame, which screwing through the stiles is notorious for. Once in place the frames with door fitted and ~ALL~ adjustments made, the gap between frame and slap should be filled with expanding foam, this makes the door immovable and fully draft-proof assuming the letterbox or any aperture are draft-proofed. don't forget the all round and gasket set, make sure there are no cuts, twists or brittleness to prevent a good seal...pinenot :)
