I had an old fashioned Honeywell room thermostsat which I decided to change for something a bit more modern. Bought the Honeywell 907 7 day programmable thermostsat.

I have a British Gas central heating controller, this is in the kitchen, the room stat is in the hall.

I have connected the new rooom stat but I can only get the heating to come on if I set the new room stat in the "off" position. Does this mean it is faulty or is it possible the new room stat is not compatible with the central heating controller.

Any advice greatly appreciated

Hi, anythings possible.

There are 3 wires red, blue and yellow.

I have connected the live and the neutral as per the instructions. I am presuming the yellow is the switching wire. I have connected that to the only other place that it can go on the stat.

cheers
