We've just moved out of our house and in with the in-laws while our ground floor was being re-screeded - the previous screed was very uneven, differing by about 25mm from highest point to lowest point. So far so good. We want to lay electric underfloor heating under tiles now, and I gather that the way to do that on a screeded floor is to lay the insulation boards (eg. Marmox) first, followed by the electric mats, and then the tile adhesive followed by the tiles. We're intending to lay tiles over the entire ground floor. However, a new kitchen will also need putting in.
Do we lay the (marmox) boards throughout, then put in the kitchen on top of the boards, and then add the mats where we need them, before tiling around the kitchen units, or should the boards not be laid underneath the kitchen units? And are the boards strong enough for washing machines, cooker, etc?
