I own a ford focus 2003 and at the MOT one of the advisories was a faulty breather hose on the air intake hose to manifold. The car runs fast/slow when idle.
When I asked the garage he pointed out the hose in question , its a T-shaped hose sat just behind the air intake for the manifold .Its tucked nicely and very hard to access.
The hose is 3 pieces of pipe with a metal T-shaped junction in the middle.
My question is ;-
can i replace this without removing the manifold air intake pipes ?
and what width hose is it ?
I was contemplating doing it myself but its positioning is putting me right off.
oh and the other thing , if I do tackle it how is the hose that goes downwards held into the manifold ? I can see some kind of metal clip but I cant make out its fastening , screw thread / jubilee clip etc...
any advice would be greatly accepted.
