Can anyone help with these problems:

Mord Mondeo Passenger door only locks itself - no central locking

Drivers door - when locked - doesn't activate deadlocks or alarm

Any ideas ??

It's a 1995/96 2.0 LX

The drivers door lock locks all the doors but no deadlocking or alarm activates and now the passenger door only locks itself and doesn't lock any of the others

Normally means the mechanical part is working (the lock),but a wire is broken/disconnected,preventing the electrical bit working (not connected to the rest of the locks/servos/motors) - hopefully just the wire pulled off,or the connection corroded.

I think you probably have one or two switches faulty.

The tailgate lock incorporates a "inhibit switch" which allows you to open the tailgate without turning off the alarm. If this is faulty it will stop the alarm from arming.

you also have a "self test function"for the alarm system.

open the bonnet and close all doors and tailgate.

operate the bonnet switch 8 times in 10 seconds then

open and close each door in turn if the switch is o.k. you will hear a beep

the bonnet and tailgate can also be tried.

Hope this helps.

John
