just watching a news report where a van was swept away while trying to drive across a ford..
I've never understood that.. they're always in a dip so why don't they build a ramp either side and make a bridge over it about 4-5 foot high..
surely that's a better idea than having to drive through a stream / river to get somewhere...?
you're generally not going to get a huge great articulated lorry down the kind of roads they're on so it wouldn't need to be a really strong bridge either..

indeed. and they are fun to drive through.

if it was bad enough to sweep a van away im guesssing the driver made a serious error in judgement, his loss.
