Changed an immersion in a fortic cylinder about 4 months ago, and its gone already, the previous one did not last much longer!

We do live in a very hard water area, which obviously does not help things, however this does seem excessive.

When I changed the last one, I noticed there is a lot of limescale in the bottom of the cylinder where the immersion is fitted, my question is, would the limescale affect the life of the immersion, or is something else the problem?

Many thanks in advance for any help

yes it will cause overheating of the element in places

best clean it out

you can also get a incalloy element for hard water areas

Thought you might say that  Whats the best way of cleaning out? Have a wet vac that I get into the immersion boss!!!

Know about these immersions, but is the extra cost worth it? i.e. o hey actually do what they say?

Thanks for the reply.
