3 weeks ago we had new white UPVC windows fitted (eurocell extrusions). The fitters used Silversil LMN silicone around frames and trim (they left me half a tube)

Anyway, we're finding this silicone a b*gger to clean. Any dust that gets on it is really hard to shift and sort of sticks to the surface. If you try and wipe off the dust with a duster fibres from the duster seem to get stuck on the silicone and if you rub your finger over the siilcone it starts to rough up along the edges and come away from the upvc. Surely after 3 weeks this stuff should have cured into a tough wipeable surface? Hate to think what it's going to look like after a few months.

Could this be a fault with the silicone or the way it was applied?

I assume you mean internally, if so should really use stelmax which is a small gap sealant that goes hard, if you were to use silicone it would be a high mod one, dust and all sorts of **** will stick to silicone

Thanks God! Yep it is internal and it's a dogs dinner quite frankly, they used low modulus stuff and dust is sticking to it like sh*t to a blanket. Which Stelmax sealant is it the 1961 or 1965?

Sure its the 61, low mod silicone is for frame to brickwork
