I am planning to do an overhaul on my garage.

I am going to strip it back to the wooden frame and start again.

I want to do the outer skin using feather edge boards and the roof i will board and have profesionally covered.

How do i ensure that it is waterproof before i put the outer boards on????

Cheers for any help.

If you require extra strength or security then fix 12mm wbp plywood to the frame first. Although you can skip this if you will be boarding the inside.

Next, staple a breather membrane, (breathable roofing felt)over the outer frame. This will keep all penetrating moisture out, but help reduce condensation inside.
Tyvek is good but pricey, you can cheaper ones for about £45 per 50msq roll.

After you've fixed this, nail or screw 2x1 treated batten over the vertical wall studs, then fix your boarding to this.
