Gas cooker not very hot

M

I have a gas cooker which works fine on the hobs and grill, but the oven area does not get very hot. What is likely to be the problem with it ? Would it be a thermostat which needs replacing ?

Or the burner control valve. Is the flame staying fairly low after ignition. It may be gunged up with grease or fat, a good clean may help. You will see some sort of valve or lever at one end of the burner.

Could simply be the oven door seal not sealing, close the door on a strip of newspaper to check the seal.........pull the seal out with the door closed

Resistance indicates a seal............if its loose its not sealing
