A friend of mine ( who inherited his Mum's house) told of the time part of the screwed steel carcass rotted under the suspended floor ( during Mum's occupation ) made the living room smell of gas - his sister told Mum to stay in the kitchen !! Luckily her cleaner had more sense and turned off @ meter then got a Gas Safe to fix.
