I know your not suppose to touch gas, but can you disconnect your hob? I have valve at the bottom of the pipe at the back. which if i close the valve the hob is isolated I've tried and tested.

I just dont know if i should disconnect from the valve or call in a corgi plumber to disconnect.

thanks

Gas Safe Engineer required

Although it maybe disconnected the uncapped pipe is potentially very dangerous and RIDDOR reportable

If you were to cap the pipe you need to be able to test that your work is leak free.

A Gas Safe Engineer will/should test the pipework for any leaks, cap the supply to the hob and then repeat the first test to confirm his/her work.

This should not be expensive to do, BG will do this for a fixed price.

Hope this helps
