Hi

We a re thinking of buying a flat with no gas. Does anyone know who we should contact about getting it installed and how much something like this could cost.

Also, because this is a 2nd floor flat, can a copper gas pipe be ran outside the building and then come into the flat or would we have to run it up from the inside?

Do the other flats have gas?

You can run a copper gas pipe outside with no sleeve if it is not touching the wall, so the clips would have to bring it away from the wall.

Think you should phone Transco or British Gas for advice and directions on what to do about getting a supply to the property, as anything on "that" side of the meter isnt your property.

Transco no longer exists and British Gas is no longer a monopoly.
There are five distribution companies, so it all depends on which part of the country you live in!

The best thing to do is decide who you will be buying your gas from (N Power; E-On; British Gas etc etc) and ask them to arrange a supply for you.
