Guys,
Need to know who to get to replace the pipe that runs from outlet of meter to the rest of the house.
Need to get this pipe changed as its a metric pipe and getting boiler replaced.
Would a gas safe engineer be okay or gas company I pay bills to?
Thanks.

You shouldnt really need it replacing.

You can get hold of 3/4 to 22m couplers. Not sure about 3/4 to 28mm/15mm though but you can get an increaser or reducer if its needed again.

If your engineer has todl you the pipework must be changed, He can do this for you. His allowed to alter pipework upto the meter outlet himself.

I know BG have a 2meter move policy aslong as your meter is not in a meterbox, IE. Under the stairs, but there has to be space to move it to and if doesn't we SEEs wouldnt do anything about it.

You could try your supplier and see what they say, failing that. whoever installs your new boiler is well within his own right to connect upto the meter.

Surely this is another wind up? If anyone is having a new boiler then their installer will take the gas supply into consideration.

Must be just trying to get more money out of someone. 60p for 3/4 to 22mm coupler, the gas flow rate isnt going to dramatically different because of half a mm difference in pipe size

Gas meters are normally 3/4" or 1" BS746 male thread, which haven't changed since the year dot. Capillary end feed fittings are available (look like a tap connector - but are not) from those threads to 22mm copper.
BES Part Nos 0244, 0246 (straight)
