GE Washer won't stop draining

I have a GE washing machine, model WWSE5200B1WW. I could never run large loads because after it filled to a certain point, it would just start draining. Now I can't run anything. The drain is always open, so as soon as it starts filling, it starts draining and there's never enough water for it to kick into the wash cycle. Any suggestions?

Sounds as though the waste pipe is syphoning out the water once it gets to a certain level in the drum. Try raising it to the level of the top of the machine.
