Glow worm Fuelsaver 55F – noisy when boiler working

Recently I replaced fan of this boiler. Since then its very noisy when working. The noise originates in the boiler, and travels all around. Its only slightly high pitched noise -more or less like the noise of water running through the boiler. The noise from pump is normal. Also when the system stops (with timer cutting off) it makes a loud noise like something grinding to a halt. What could be the problem? Grateful for any thoughts
