Hi guys,

I have a Glowworm Micron 50FF (groan  ) and I had an issue with it only igniting once everytime I turned it on. Did a search on here I decided it must be the PCB so bought one of the updated green led ones (801990)

But on fitting it I have seen the spade connection for the HT Lead is a different size and doesnt fit the PCB. Anyone else noticed this and what did you do about it.

I change the connection to fit. Simples.

Great diagnostic skill there fella!

Paul.

Yer I changed the crimp on the lead but it hasnt worked (I dont think)

Its now not igniting at all and i get the reset led on and the burner one flashing which i believe is lockout ?

I hate boilers lol

Well, your out of your depth aren't you. If you cant make a simple connection to an upgraded PCB, should you be trying to replace it.

Im all for people having 'a go' if the case is not removed, but your incompetent.

Get an RGI in.

Paul.

the spade connection is exactly the same, you should not need to change it.
now I'm guessing what you've done is connected to the earth tag! not the spark gen. doh!!!!
Thats an expensive guess by the way!

I think I can tell the difference in thicknesses of spade terminal and they are certainly not the same. I also know what an eartch terminal looks like.

For your information I am trained to NVQIII in Mechanical/Electrical Maintenance and am currently a Diesel Engineer for Fords so not some stupid idiot.

But thanks for the warm welcome

I guess I might have been sent the wrong board but its strange all the other connections fit

If you are as good as you imply then I am surprised that you need to ask any advice on here.

I got £50 from a gipsy car totter two years ago for my ( petrol 0 Ford escort ). getting any cash out of a gipsy is amazing!

You may be able to give advice on car problems in the auto section of this forum.

Well, the facts are simple. The terminals on the new and old pcb are all the same, there's no alterations to be made. There are 2 types of pcb, NTPO and TPO. You need to make sure you have the right one, but the electrode connection is still the same. So the only conclusion I can come to is that you've tried to connect the ignition electrode to the earth tag. How about you take a picture and I'll point you in the right direction. then again, you've got an NVQ so I'm sure you'll be fine.

return the board in my opinion i believe there is an issue with some of them
