I am renovating a house and the garden has not been touched for about 10 years all overgrown weeds brambles nettles ect, I have got all these out and turned over the garden and the soil is superb......i know i need to flatten it out but what type of grass seed is the best and should i put any fertilisers down with the grass seed

go for turf. its instant and its been grown under controlled conditions with all the fertilisers etc it needs, and sown at the right rate for the area. Personal opinion but there you go!

I'd steralise the soil first if I were you or the weeds will be back in no time.

I think I'd leave it until spring.
