I've got a shower that works off a gravity fed pump. The pressure from the water tank is not high enough to kick the pump into working. Someone mentioned to me there might be something I could fit to the pump to deliver a bit of water at pressure to kick the pump off. They didn't tell me what it was called. Any ideas?

Some pumps have optional extras available for problems like yours - like a pneumatic (air) operated remote button to get the pump to kick in. I've seen DIY installations with a wired push button connected across the flow switch - though that might not be safe in a bathroom.

Or - if you've paid someone to fit the thing, you could get them back to sort out the mess.
