Hi, looking at buying a bungalow but have noticed that below the DPC on the bricks there seems to be a green and white residue. Any ideas what this could be? Will get survey done before buying of course but would appreciate any suggestions as to what it could be and what problems i might face.

white residue on brickwork normally indicates harmless eflouresence, green residue is probably moss! seriously, certain conditions bring out eflouresence, usually wet period followed by a long dry period, nothing to worry about and quite normal. brick manufacturers actually give their bricks an eflouresence rating.
