had the NTOSKML.EXE changed message

I use AVG /NOD 32 /avira AntiVirguard

I got this from AVG the best checker saying that NTOSKML.EXE has changed ...
most avg boards say ok...

went to a Dark FAQS /tech Hakkor boards ...

an *The late WIZ forum* says its a trojan ,:(

but admin *wth* says ....no worries , disregard ...


on completion the AVG Proggie says ..
NO VIRUS ..but NTOSKML.EXE....changed ...

anyway an old mate *Fallen Angel * ...there says its a system/bios update thing , AND DONT DELETE IT !


any good proper TECH guys Here can tell me the truth ?
dont get me wrong I love my old crews ...
just need heads up ...lol ;)

Anyway - do you mean ntoskrnl (rn instead of m) ?

There are many valid reasons for those files to show changed, a Windows update, file system check that replaced them if corrupted, and others. As long as AVG doesn't say they are infected it is ok. If it continues to show changed, delete the following file(s) in the C:\ directory and AVG will create a new one(s)...

AVG7DB_F.DAT
AVG7QT.DAT [/code:1]
 
Yeah it is "ntoskrnl" - it means NT operating system kernel. It's one of the core executables in the Windows operating system.
