I have a tank fed CHS and there is an electric solenoid on the 3 port valve to determine if heating only, hot water only or both.

I have now removed this from the manual valve that it sits on, yet I still cant get anything but lukewarm water.

The tank has a thermostat on and I hear it click when I move it to the lowest setting < 30C (it is set on 60C usually) so I think this part is fine.

I have opened the bleed screws near the tank but no air comes out, just water, so not that.

I am wondering if the manual valve itself has failed as I am not sure of any other explaination?

The manual valve turns around by hand constantly, ie, not hard stop in either direction. ? Is this correct?

Not really sure ho to set this to HW and Heating, have tried a few positions but no HW yet....

HELP!

Further info....

Just noticed that the bottom half of the tank is stone cold but top half to third is hot...

Anybody?

From what you have said I have no idea unless your boiler flow temp is too low.

Maybe you need a heating engineer?

Its a question of the boiler temp when you are heating hot water only!
