help with choosing new boiler

In the modern sense Gledhill developed them with B Gas in the 80s. There are countless makers of them. Whole estates are full of them.

That was during his heyday just before he retired !

Some of the people posting here were not even born in 1980 !

What a stupid pointless post.

Blimey but your a bit dim today systems, Tony is saying that the older lads who see atlot of these back in 80's (not me obviously as I am waaaaayyy too young ;) ) arent in the majority out there.

If you have any further comprehension difficulties please dont hesitate to ask for help

I have read up on these ACV combis and heatstores. Interested because we do AO Smith commercial stuff and have experience with HW buffer stores being cycled from a water heater to form a heat bank.

In principle the ACV sounds like a good idea, but then a lot of good ideas tend to read well, but only a few translate into good products.

How many of these ACV systems have you fitted, Water Systems? Can you offer any practically based advice on their maintenance and longevity?

Water Systems has always been "office based" when he was working and has never actually fitted anything himself!

He really looks down on "workmen" or "plumbers" who get their hands dirty and actually fit anything!

Agile I really wish you would stop this blaspheming

you now how sensitive i get when you take the lord our water's name in vain

arrrrrrssystems

I would suggest the present boiler be serviced, system cleaned and upgraded to fully pumped S or Y plan. Possibly replace the cylinder if it is not prelagged.

A new firefront and you have a solid reliable, cheap workhorse.

So is Agile right, Water Systems?

Have you fitted any of the stuff you advise others to invest in? Or are you reading out of a catalogue? I do hope that is not the case, as your posts strongly intimate a hands on familiarity, which novices are putting their faith in.

If Water Systems cannot help (and I hope he can), I would be very interested in anyone else's practical experience of ACV's products.
