Hi,

I have a small brick leant-to type structure at the back of my house that I guess was once an outside toilet and is now inside (old Victorian house). It is roofed with slate but there is no fascia at the side. Instead it appears the gap between the brick and slate has been filled with a concrete/mortar type mix.

Some of this has fallen out and I want to replace it. Since it is not a high structure (single storyish) I want to try and do it myself but I am unsure of what I should be using. Is it normal mortar or is some other mix required?

Thanks,

Matt

Your Victorian building will have been built with lime mortar, which is available ready mixed, best stick to the same in my opinion...pinenot
