My valve isn't working, it has been buzzing very loudly, not sure yet if it is the motor, powerhead or valve itself. I have bought a new motor as it was not expensive.

My problem is the valve is mounted in a really inaccessible position, at arms length behind a load of pipes with the motor facing the far wall. So even the simple task of removing 2 screws to remove the motor is a blind fingertip job made almost impossible. I have searched the specs and pdfs from honeywell for a detailed drawing of the motor and motorhead assembly so I have an idea of where the screws are I am trying to undo, but can't find anything. Can anyone help please?

You only need to take 1 screw out and twist motot to remove, try removing head first easy to take off blind but as dan said only if the valve covering has a raised dimple.

Thanks for the response, yes I got the whole head off in the end, it was the easiest way. I have taken the motor off, and it is not working, just loud buzzing and no movement when connected to the mains, so I have replaced it with the new one.

However I suspect that the valve itself also needs replacing, there is only about 30 degrees of rotation on the valve, it moves very easily by hand, and then hits a rubbery stop each way. There is so little movement it seems the valve can not move all of the way it would normally go under the spring action of the head, it only goes about half way. I assume this means I need a whole new valve, presumably I have to purchase it complete with head and motor?

Yes, looks like it is, thanks for the input. I have put it all back together, and tested I am getting hot water only with CH switched off, and hot water to radiators with CH on. I can also just see the valve move as expected. Job done for £14, result, thanks, this is a great resource.
