Fingers crossed the plumber is coming to replace a faulty 3 way valve on the C/H system, but when he installed it it was an electrician who wired the system in, SO to save calling a spark out too, as im familiar with wiring and switches etc etc, i thought id sort the wiring out myself. SO my questions to you chaps are. There are 5 coloured wires coming from the valve head. BLUE/YELLOW&GREEN/WHITE/GRAY and an ORANGE. As far as i can tell there is a nuetral (blue) and an EARTH (green&yellow) So then are the other three wires the SWITCH wires for the different positions of the valve. (H/W,C/H and BOTH H/W and C/H) I apologise if im barking up the wrong tree here, but ill carry on
below is a pic of the terminal block of the whole system
On the pic above, numbers 2 and 4 go directly to the boiler, and the cable No4 is from the valve, and No1 goes to the H/W cylinder stat. BUT as im no 100% with the workings of a CYLINDER STAT or THE VALVE, this is where i need the help of you guys!!! so can anyone deduce any info from the pic in terms of what colour switches what etc etc I also notice that the boiler has a 240v SUPPLY (cable number 2) and also a SINGLE BROWN core (cable number 4). All this is in case the new valve is not coloured in the same way, as i think the plumber is fitting a different type of valve. ANY info will be really appreciated.......
