Can anyone tell me what the building regs state as the horizontal distance between studs in a wall ?

I think its normally 400mm on centres. Having said that, I just had to scan for the studs in my wall and they varied from 340mm - 430mm. So much for regs

Not heard of regs on this one but make sure the studs are in the right position to pick up the edge of the plasterboard on the centre of the stud.
