Hi folks,

A friend is being proposed a horizontal hot water cylinder as part of a loft conversion. I also have one of these and am not convinced it's as good as a vertical cylinder as it doesn't seem to warm up as quickly as our old cylinder (although this could just be different coils etcs)

Any views here on whether horizontal cylinders propose any particular problem or their merits relative to a vertical one?

Thanks,

Matthew

As long as it's designed to be used horizontally and is made to the relevant BS, users don't complain, though you could chew the fat over stratification etc.
To use a normal ones on its side isn't a good idea though!
