Hot water only from a combi?

I need hot water only, at the moment as my heating system is not complete.
Could I use a Combi boiler just to heat water only? or will this damage the Combi on the heating side. I know it sounds a bit odd, but I need to have hot water and trying to think of the best and cheapest option, until I can afford a complete system. Enough hot water for a bath and basin.

Any pointer would be most helpful.

you could just fit 1 rad as a temporary measure,then use it for hot water only
