As I understand things, this shouldn't happpen, but recently our boiler has stopped heating water in the hot water tank (gravity system, not pumped) despite otherwise working perfectly. What's more when the pump is turned on the hot water then heats up normally - along with the radiators. Any suggestions, please? Could there be an air-lock somewhere?

check the feed & expansion tank usually the smaller of the two
