Just been around a friends who had been complaning about a noise coming from her washing machine( mainly when on spin cycle ), having confirmed it to be the main drum bearings i then ordered a new set. Today i tried to fit these without any joy due to not being able to reach the area from the back, i then started to dismantle the front only then to see that the area i wanted to get to was inaccessible unless i took the whole tub out and split it into (x2) parts and then gain access to the spider that way.

Q.
1. Is this the only way to complete this task?
2. Is their an easier way please let me know?

Whole tub has to come out and be split to change the bearings and bearing seal.
