I'm seeking advice on my Hotspur. For some time I've noticed when it fires up initially I can smell the oil outside of the house from the stack. This lasts for a short time, probably about 5-10 minutes. Just lately I can smell the oil fumes from the stack after it's been on for a few hours. I quite like the smell but a neighbour remarked about it recently. Does the combustion chamber need cleaning and if so is it a case of brushing and sweeping out the chamber? (using a vacuum cleaner, of course). About a year ago I replaced the ignition transformer and the old girl has been performing magnificently.
