Hi, i have just bought an electric hob and an electric oven, the hob is 6,000 watts 30Amps, the oven is 3,400 watts, the current oven is hard wired behind the oven and has one of those red switches above the worktop, i have been told to wire the hob into that as it has a higher wattage? My main query though is can the oven be attached via a 13amp plug as i have a seperate socket under the worktop? If not what are my other options?

Many thanks in advance

Tina

Do you think it'll be ok on Christmas day with all four hobs on the go
Oohthats.

I'd much rather install it on it's own Radial 2.5 or 4 mm should do the trick

Must remember to not not on late at night after a few glasses off wine

the oven dosnt have any hobs!! its a seperate oven and hob.
yes the hob needs to be on a 32amp fuse but the oven is only
3400 watts so can be plugged in to a normal socket

I didn't say the Oven had hobs did i ?

So this socket under the hob what is it served from, is it part of the ring final, a radial or what?

Is it a spur? Is it a spur of a spur?

ok keep ur hair on! you were talking about the hob
and its on a cooker radial. dont be so defensive just
cz u read the question wrong. the oven is about as powerful
as some kettles nowadays. are you saying that we should
all be getting electricians in before we think about
makin a cup of tea? this is supposed to be for advice
and not to scare people. the OP was just asking if the oven could
go on a plug and socket arrangement and the answer is yes
