why no FAQ or Sticky with usefull tips such as storing paint cans upside down so any skin that forms on the paint is at the bottom when opened..?

or wrapping rollers and brushes in clingfilm overnight if you need to use them again the next day.

info on the proper way to fold wallpaper prior to hanging and what paints to use for what..

what's a mist coat and what ratio to mix it.. etc..

Because, that particular tip, is worse than useless.

maybe not for the pro's who use a whole tin in one go, but for us DIY'ers who use half a tin and then stick it in the shed / garage for a few years, it's a good tip...

why is it worse that useless?

Because if you turn a tin upside down and it skins, when you turn it the right way up again it can break the skin and all the paint then gets full of bits of skin, whereas if it's on the top, a decent painter will be able to cut round the sides of it and lift it off cleanly.

Worse still is when you turn the tin the right way up, then take the lid off you can see the liquid paint at the top. This is now pressing down on the skin underneath and if it breaks it can splash all over the place.

Saw that happen with green gloss, 30 years ago and the guys eyes were covered in it.
