have the side extrusions got packers in them? If they are separate pieces they could come out then the glass slider might come out.

You may not be able to remove the panels. When you slide them up and down are they counterweighted? If so do NOT remove them from their frame as you will damage the springs within their frames. The only option would be to remove any trims from around the outer frame and unscrew it so you can remove the complete unit.

This is what I was worried about, the guys that fitted them left no manual to look at and there is no trade name on them. When opening and closing there feels like there is a slight assist.

I agree with Jandiy. They look distinctly like balnced vertical silder secondary glazing , and if you remove the sasehs you will have an absolute nightmare getting them to work correctly again. Best bet it to find were the outerframe is attached to either the reveal or window frame ( probly a plastic trim covering the screws , or maybe painted mdf trim ) and remove the entire framework... a pain but the easiest way of guaranteeing they still work when you've finished

Good point

Im sorry I hadnt thought of balance springs.

yes you probably need to remove the whole frame.

Having another look at the photo , you can see the plastic trim at the edges of the frame , siliconed to the wall and the secondary glazing unit...they may be stuck on with silicone or superglue

i think they are screwed through onto the face of your window frame from the looks of. Loosen one of your side trims and see if you can see the screws. Be really careful with removing them as you don't want to upset the sprint mechanisms as they are very hard for an inexperienced person to readjust. Good luck.

I think I'll try removing the smallest one first and see what happens. Thanks for all your help.
