How level are Concrete Floors?

We have just had a new concrete floor laid by what we thought was a reliable building firm. However it is not completely level. It appears that they have just leveled the concrete off in sections by hand using a trowel, and there are lots of minor inconsistencies and some more major bumps. Also the floor slopes slightly around the edges for the last 6inches all round the room. :(

How level can you expect a new floor to be? Is it reasonable to expect a perfectly level surface?[/img]

I don't know how level it SHOULD be, but floors with a thin vinyl, or similar, covering are usually flat enough to put a 4 leg table on without it rocking, and that's pretty flat. I had the same problem with a screed laid in a 12 foot square room, the middle was an inch higher than the edge. The third time it was done we had tiles put down, now it's flat to within 1/16th inch.

Thanks. Actually they came back, were apologetic and put a screed down yesterday. It is now looking a lot better. :)
