Couple of days ago, I was adding a rad to my system. I fluxed the end-feed joints, but got called away for a couple of hours.

When I came back, the flux had gone really dark. I wiped it off and re-fluxed.

Would the flux still have worked, or was I right to re-flux? What's the max. time you should leave flux before heating it? Are all brands of flux the same?

I think you will be ok for quite a long time, considering the flux is between such a tight space (pipe and fitting) it may aswell be sealed away in it's tub.

As long as you see your torch boiling the flux and you can see it kind of spitting out the joint a bit you will be ok ;)
