Hi All

Just wondering how many sockets you can run off a ring main (which already has two spurs running off it - one to underfloor heating unit which is only on in the early morning and another for the Honeywell heating control unit).

FYI 2.5mm cable has been used protected by 32A MCB.

Thanks.

The limit is more one of physical space and cable running rather than technically of the socket numbers. In theory it is unlimited as the 2 "legs" of the ring will share the load and the MCB will pop long before the cable has reached its operating limit. There is a limit that it must not encompass more than 100 sq m of floor area within its boundaries, but that is all.

The number of unfused spurs must not exceed the total number of sockets (and pieces of fixed equipment) in the ring, but on 13A fused spurs there is, again, no real limit.
