I've got an aco drain on my drive and I can see that it needs cleaning out.
I cannot see how to get the grill off the channel.
What's the trick :?:

They generally just pull up but they do get stuck with all the grit etc over time so a scrape round the edges and a little force may be needed.

If it's a plastic drain cover go a little easy as you don't want to snap it when you try to lift it off.
I would advise getting in touch wit ACO if your not sure about it. They should be able to tell you exactly how to remove the grill.

I asked Aco and got an immediate response. (well done Aco)
Basically they are just held in by a spring clip. Unfortunately the wings of the clip are directlly beneath a grill strip and cannot be accessed.
A straight pull up is what's needed. There's a special tool, but Aco also recommended an old screwdriver bent at right angles.
In the event, one shorter cover was removed by simply inserting a screwdriver by the clip and levering sideways. It was then possible to slide the next grill along the drain to expose the wings of the clips which I could then depress with a straight screwdriver. :D
