Hello forum: I have just moved into my own place and I have no idea how to use the hot water or central heating.
In the kitchen I have a wall mounted Potterton 80 boiler and on the wall I have 2 switches (unmarked). I have worked out that one of them turns on the boiler, but not too sure about the other one.
In the airing cupboard I have a Boilermate II tank. On the airing cupboard wall I have 2 switches. (both unmarked). One has a wire going to the tank and the other is just a switch.
Does it mean that I have to switch on all these switches to get heating and hot water.
Ideally I am hoping to use gas for both heating and hot water.
In the passage there is a Digistat thermostat, which I gather I need to set myself.
Any help would be appreciated.

The switch with the thicker wire in the airing cupboard is probably the back up immersion heater. You only need this if the boiler breaks down.

The boiler stat on the potterton needs to be turned to max.

The boilermate has a temp control on the front, the funny marker with the peg that is placed in one of the holes.
